Welcome to the new home of Hank's Place! We have recently (as of Feb 1, 2002) relocated here in an effort to give Hank's Place a proper home within an RCA Records family of features.
New Release: Intrada had just released a soundtrack CD for Silver Streak, a complete Mancini score that has never been available for purchase (other than the main title theme). Order direct from Intrada, and grab it fast: this is a limited edition!
New Addition: we now have a CD Availability Page for the Mancini family, which lists recordings currently available for both Henry Mancini and Monica Mancini from CDNow.
Within the coming few months, we will have an illustrated discography that shows the album cover images, full track listings, personnel listings where available, and capsule reviews that help collectors locate the specific albums they are looking for. Plans for our original discography were scrapped in favor of a new, database-driven discography program that will be more useful than static listings. We're finishing up development on the new program, and expect to install and begin populating it here in March of 2002. Volunteers needed to help with the data entry! Once we're ready, we'll post a notice on the forum.
The archive of our old forum is available here. No new posts can be made, but our thousands of posts over the past few years is preserved for all eternity.
A sampler of the long-awaited Henry Mancini Discography, which has the first six RCA albums that Hank recorded, was posted awhile ago. Click here to view the first page...and there are many more to come!
Monica Mancini: Henry Mancini's daughter has recorded a couple of albums in the past few years. We'll have a discography online in the near future. Click here to read a NY Times article about Monica's first CD.
While visiting our Mancini site, tune into our exclusive Live365 internet broadcast, Mancini Moments, the official internet streaming broadcast of Hank's Place. We also recommend visiting this excellent website: BJ Major's Pictorial Mancini Discography. And don't overlook Freddie Westerhof's slick Flash presentation of Mancini, including a biography and sound samples.
